•Reporting to the Management of Human Resources, the HR/Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in the overall operations of the HR team
•The incumbent performs a wide range of Human Resources services with moderate complexity and participates in various HR initiatives and programming to reflect HR best practices in the following areas: talent acquisition/management, on-boarding, policy interpretation and guidance, employee and labor relations, and recognition and rewards
•With direction from the Management, the HR/Talent Acquisition Specialist administers leaves of absence within CUL and works with the Management to create a return from leave transition plan
•Interacts with all levels of management and staff regarding a variety of HR issues, responds to employee inquiries and interprets University policies appropriately
• Working closely with the Management, the incumbent communicates relevant policy updates to employees and managers, creating useful tools as needed
• Partners with unit managers on all aspects of the recruitment process, including onboarding and participates in search committees

• Screening and Interviewing - Plans and documents the interview and selection process and procedures, including the development of interview questionnaire, conduct telephone screening and other assessments, and in-person interviews; utilizes applicant tracking system (sourcing) to assess candidate information, review resumes and cover letters and other candidate documents
• Documents and provides feedback to hiring manager/search committee following interviews
• Selection and Hiring - Works closely with the Management and search committee members to help identify the finalist and conduct reference checks; makes hiring and salary recommendations to key CUL stakeholders including hiring managers, and extends job offers
